Bona Fides and IES Rei en Jaume are looking for candidates (aged 18-30, citizens or residents of Poland) for a long-term ESC volunteering project in Spain. We are looking for someone interested in secondary education, intercultural exchange, and supporting teachers and students, including those with special educational needs.

Description
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers interested in secondary education, languages and intercultural exchange. Our school is located in Alzira (Valencia), Spain, and welcomes students aged 12–18. The volunteer’s main role is to promote linguistic and cultural exchange by supporting teachers in the classroom, sharing their language and culture, and collaborating on educational projects. Volunteers will also assist students with special educational needs under the supervision of the teaching staff. Occasionally, volunteers may help with other school activities, such as supporting the library, assisting with extracurricular events or carrying out simple administrative tasks, depending on the school’s needs.
A good level of both English and Spanish is required to facilitate communication with teachers and students at the school. Studies or experience in Education, Languages, Psychology or related fields will be considered an asset.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
We have a local agency IDEA, depending on the city council, which organizes everything regarding transport, accommodation and food.
Training during the activity
As for training, the volunteer will attend a national training seminar for 2 weeks and will be offered an observation period at school before acting out as a volunteer.
A tutor will mentor him/her on a weekly basis.
The local agency IDEA also offers Spanish and/or Valencian language lessons.
Participant profile
We are looking for an enthusiastic, responsible and open-minded volunteer with a genuine interest in secondary education and working with young people aged 12–18. The volunteer should enjoy interacting with teenagers in a multicultural environment and be willing to contribute to the school community through linguistic and cultural exchange.
A good command of English and Spanish is required. The volunteer should be able to work collaboratively with teachers and feel comfortable supporting students with special educational needs under the guidance of the school staff.
We value volunteers who are proactive, adaptable and confident using digital tools and educational resources. Above all, we are looking for someone who can be a positive role model, inspire our students to embrace European values, and encourage them to participate in international mobility and volunteering opportunities in the future.
